THAT'S why I ordered a 44" swamped Dickert barrel for my Tennessee. Even in a "C" weight the balance is perfect.

Bought this used with its straight 7/8" x 42" x .45cal GM barrel for a weekend range gun.
I ended up liking it so much I wanted to hunt with it, but I knew it was just too nose heavy for stilol hunting...carries much better now.
Next step is to completely refinish the stock and antique the brass...and it'll be my Fall 2011 deer rifle.

... but I knew it was just too nose heavy for still hunting... carries much better now.
How much lighter is the barrel or is it more in the balance and perceived 'feel' ... ??

Balances better...less weight out in front of the hands

I have noticed our deer pop. in Pa on a gradual increase for the past few years. But damn are them bucks getting a whole lot smarter. I find late ML season the best time for them and archery.

For everyone else in Pa our late ML season you can only use flintlocks. It used to be only flintlocks with black powder and round ball or maxi ball no modern BP equivalent but now thats changed to modern charges are aloud.

How can anyone not love the beauty of a Dickert?
Very nice rifle. Gonna build one someday.
And Ed does nice work, too.
