Of all of the suggestions, I think that for those of us who only have low tech tools at our disposal, which is most of us, driving the pin through, using a wooded backing to prevent raising splinters, is probably the quickest and least destructive method to remove that pin.

Thanks for all the great ideas. The magnet thing occurred to me, too. But I also think that the pin is gonna be too tight.

It'll probably be a while before I find out the results. It's my dad's rifle, and he lives about 600 miles south of me. However, we've got him hooked up with some ml'ers down there and hopefully we'll get it figured out. I'll let everyone know what happened.
