Get ready!! You are about to get several thousand formulas for making your own lube! Just buy a few different readily available patch lubes like mink oil or bear grease or some other concoction of wax/oil & see what you prefer. It ain't rocket surgery & making your own is a waste of time. Just my two cents. I like the TOTW Mink Oil cause I hunt in the cold. You may like something different.
Oh gods… here it comes. I’ll give you my brother Jim Bob’s secret formula:
-3 cups moose milk
-2 cups vodka — the blueberry Stoli kind.
-3 leaves from a bay tree, picked at 6:am on the winter equinox.
-6 drops of unicorn sperm

Mix it all together and let ferment for 93 days.

You are a braver man than I will ever be to collect unicorn sperm.😐

Ox Yoke 1000 Plus Wonder Lube is basically about the same as Bore Butter. I used it for a number of years til I switched to Mink Oil. I still have some precut and prelubed patches I ordered some years back and every so often use them, but I usually lube a strip of ticking with Mink Oil now and cut at the muzzle.

SPG has been my pick for a few years now. Proven performance and they have more than one type depending on temperature you using it in

ToW Mink oil.
After some practice then step it and mix with Pure Bear Oil, whip the two together into a froth and let it settle, looking for a toothpaste consistency.
Now your at the top of the game withe best all weather patch lube!
