1860 Colt clones- PIetta on top, Uberti below.View attachment 169607Jay
The short barreled Ubertis are somewhat of a rarity. Uberti have always tried to produce authentic copies of originals and haven’t strayed far from that mission. These guns are nearly as rare as factory short barreled Colt Army models.

Steve
I love originals. They feel just so right in your hands. My problem is there are so many to choose from and the retirement wallet is not that deep anymore. One day, one day.
BK I may change my avatar to the Toxic photo. SF and Happy Birthday my brother.
Many thanks! … Remember what it was like to be that toxic? ;-)

Midway has the 5" Uberti .36 Navies, I almost got one but I like the longer barrels.

They are cool, a guy on YouTube made a Manhattan repro out of one , I'm like why a Manhattan repro? I guess, why not

Pietta is making better looking guns these days

Let's have another Tranter.View attachment 169973View attachment 169974

Pity it lost its finish but it has a lot of character!
Nice Tranter, looks to be in perfect shooting condition.
Being a lifelong history buff I love shooting originals mfg in Europe & America in appropriate condition to be a great connection to our history.

Nkbj, that .41 cal Remington is pretty kool. I could see that being a great hunting gun. How much 3f can you get behind that bullet, and how does it shoot? Is the barrel a rebore? Thanks for sharing it

WHOA! I wish uberti would make the 49s in a 6 inch length, that would be a useful pinker and small game gun. And, they're sexier than the 4 inchers, and I'm a guy that likes short barreled revolvers.
Other companies than Uberti have made 6 inch 1849 replicas.
