Is there an old sketch or diagram somewhere that shows or explains how the french king has is revolving chambered matchlock rifle set up?

im contemplating making one on my own, but want to do it period style, else id just use a bp revolver for a base

Bezoar,
Well, the revolving wheellock pictured in the Royal Armouries of London, the revolving chambers are turned by hand and locked into place. Unless you want to make close copy, you could just make a big clunky gonne using your present knowledge of matchlock gonnes. Just a thought.

This is the general idea of what i have in mind. Loosely based on the revolving matchlock for the king of france.
Any plans for it my polish friend?

Bezoar,
I take it back. That is not a klunky gonne at all. It is quite sleek. I could wish for one of those.

Please tell us about this wonderful machine. Is this something that you built? Tell us all about it.

Now that is cool, I no more would put my hand in front of that cylinder than i would a more modern cap lock revolving rifle for the same reasons.
Very nice rifle, i also like the sliding pan covers. Tell us more.

Do NOT fire it with your hand in front of cylinder . Chain fire could be painfull , very painfull . That is what kept Colt revolving rifles from selling well .
