I would be labor intensive but you could. I would recommed something like a brake cylinder hone or true barrel hone (Brownell's) or some other "slug" method to make sure the bore is consistant. A gunsmith would do a LOT better job for likely less than $100.

Emery grit and a bunch of tighly patched balls or conicals might do it as well. Excessive fire lapping. But I doubt it would make a round bore - more like a rifled bore without sharp contours.

I'd also like to have my TC Hawkens flintlock 50 cal..reamed to a smooth bore.Is it possable ??? and do you know anyone I could send barrel to to do the job????Thanks ..Jeff

Why? Buy a smoothbore barrel instead.

Hi..Black Hand.. First ..I have not found a smooth bore that will go on the TC Hawkens. Plus I did a lot of custom work over the years on this gun. It has been a part of me. So now I'm really into smoothies! So I want her to be that too. Were both getting old and changing... lol!

like you say ,,,i'l be very happy to buy a new one ,
but so much prood if i do it my self,,

it will be a very non expensive shot gun ,
as much in lead than powder for rabbit hunting

i might say ,if i can foud some one clos my house ,i let him do the job faster,,

Stumpkiller i understand , the result might be a very smooth polish ,,
that will make a big the diference on the recoil ,,
