Sales of Firearms and Ammo at Flea Market

Wife and I have been going to Howard's flea market for over twenty five years. It's in Homosassa, Florida. I've bought several muzzleloading rifles from there.
One of the wings was pretty much firearms and ammo, plus the good ol boys, would park in the back, and set up a tables. We were there My 18th and bought some percussion rifles. We went today and when walk up and into the B wing, where the majority of guns were, we thought we were in the wrong wing. I checked the next 2 wings and no firearms. Went back to get my wife and tell her we were in the correct wing but no firearms. I asked a vendor about this, and he said they Band the sales of firearms and ammunition.
I googled it and found a news article that the owners decided to do so because the Federal Government was coming down on private sales of firearms. They felt it would be best.
Here we go? Or are we already there?

And by scared I mean folks are scared because recent history has shown that they will straight up murder you in the wee hours of the morning.

Antique and replica muzzleloaders are not considered “ firearms “ on the federal level. They have nothing to fear . The problem is, I’ve been to a few flea markets, with muzzleloader guns for sale by vendors. Then a new vendor sneaks in a modern gun of his own to sell, this is overlooked, then more vendors do it. Then it shuts it down for everyone. But it’s a privately owned business, the owners of said business can do what they want. They probably don’t want to be sued by a fourth hand party to a shooting victim. It’s the left’s new tactics- sue ANYONE involved who even looked at said firearm !

there was a nice flea market at union, mo, ( I haven’t been in years) a few muzzleloaders were for sale. Then a few modern guns for sale. It was all ok until certain types from st Lou started showing up lookn’ fo Glock to buy. The cops shut it down.

They have plenty to fear if the state has laws against selling a ML'er person to person or a felon.
If your engaged in a business, flipping for a profit your county may want that sales tax.

In many states the burden is on the BUYER. That means if the buyer is a felon, they should be aware that CANNOT own this. So the onus is on the buyer. But, you make some good points, I never sell an unmentioned gun without a CCW or a FFL doing a background check anymore.

Yes. Biden issued the order. He wants to destroy all guns and gun owners. He wants any civilian gun sale to go thru a dealer. I worked in a gun store. Both seller and buyer have to appear in the gun store. The dealer has to run a background check on the purchaser. If they pass the deal can go thru. The seller collects the money for the firearm and the dealer charges a transfer fee. Where I worked, we only charged $25 for our time. Some dealers charge as much as $100.

That is outrageous. It is like suing the bag boy who bagged your groceries because the meat was tainted. Any sane judge would dismiss such a case. We all know the liberal judges and liberal attorneys will jump on the chance to sue somebody.

I won't be starting my own flea market.
I'm not trying to pick at or be mean to the owners, they felt it best to stop the sales of firearms and ammunition. It's sad it has come to this.
It's legal in the state of Florida.
I am aware of the state laws.

Again it's their decision. I wouldn't want to be sued for someone else's actions, or pay out the @$$ for insurance.

It's ridiculous. Back in the 90s everyone was just getting an FFL so they could buy and sell guns without a hassle.

But oh no, can't have all these "kitchen table gun sellers" running around, so they made it much harder to get an FFL.

Now they want all private sellers to be an FFL.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe many states (PA is one example) private parties can currently sell long guns (think hunting rifles and shotguns) to other private parties without getting an FFL involved. I know there are lots of people who want to see that banned, heck maybe even some FFLs would like that as it will drive people to them and they collect the fees. I’m sure many true 2A FFLs would stand against it on principle.

Was there a recent incident where one of these mass shooters actually bought private sale used guns and did a shooting? Most of the used guns I see at flea markets are single shot .22, old single or double barrel shotguns, the occasional pump gun of varying gauges and every now and then a scoped higher caliber rifle. Not exactly the kinds of guns that are typically used in mass shootings…

I can see why flea market proprietors may want to start banning “weapons sales” at their establishments, but at the local flea markets around me, “weapons”, think knives, swords, bows, arrows, the occasional shotgun or BP rifle seem to be a decent percentage of the vendors. But there will still be a market for all of these things, where will it go?

It stems from a recent ATF rule that anyone selling a firearm for profit has to have an FFL, or use an FFL (read tracking tool). They used that as a reason to do a "no knock" raid on a citizen, at the wee hours of the morning, without body cams, after covering his camera, and murder him.
