Yep, you are right, Zonie. I had a brain fart. You move the front sight OPPOSITE of the way you want the POI to go. In his case, he should raise it to lower his POI. Boy, after all of these years of shooting you would think that I wouldn't make that stupid mistake......but I did. I WAS WRONG, FORGET MY PREVIOUS POST.

Easy to forget , so forgetaboutit. :v

Years ago my front sight popped of my trade musket when the gun fell. I never found the sight and replaced it with a shotgun bead. Once I determined the POI at 25 and 50 yards I was good to go. As it turned out it was dead on at 25 yards an inch or so low at 50. I don't know how traditional a shot gun bead is on a trade musket, but it worked for me. If it doesn't work,it's easy to remove.
