On the contrary, the rifling will ruin the shot pattern. The spinning shot will spread, immediately upon leaving the barrel, well beyond any reasonable pattern.

I’ve heard that about shooting shot in rifle but if a tight round ball won’t harm a barrel then loose shot definitely won’t. Neither will buck shot or swan shot .

Yes..I agree. Soft lead is no match for decent barrel.

I have a 36" Navy Arms barrel in .45 Cal. It has VERY SHALLOW rifling. I was wondering if that might work out ok because of the super shallow rifling?
