that is a great piece to have. do you smoke it at rendezvous'? a rare bird indeed! thanks for the history on it! there is as I said the photo's have so much in them that it takes your eyes all over the place! thanks' for posting & sharing with us! toot.
And sealing wax and a seal to boot!

This is a piece that I found in a garage sale a little over 50 years ago.The back story about two of them being found on the site of a military compound in the deep South. It's a 50 cal. The whole piece was turned from stock as big as the pivot points. There is a curious texture to the barrel above the pivots to the breech.I fire it off every court and New Years. Big boom.
Does anyone have an idea what it is?

Well it is a swivel gun or wall gun for sure, but I have not come across one with such a small caliber before.

My best guess us it's a bomb in waiting. No idea what kind of cast iron or steel it is made of!
