Sights for Double Rifles

Found this interesting three-barrel percussion gun (SxS .45 over 20 ga). Rear sight has two notches and each barrel has its own front sight. Seems the old timers figured out it was easier than trying to regulate the barrels.

Nice ... but I'd fix the front sight on the left barrel for sure ...

What's the piece of wood to the right of the muzzle? Just a 'prop' for a picture or are there 2 ramrods? One for rifle and other for shot loads?

I do not own it, I just pulled the photos off the interwebs because there was some discussion about the CVA Express rifles and how they are not always well regulated.
