Smooth bore allure

For some reason, I have been building just smooth bore guns recently- first my French Dragoon pistol (.62 cal from MBS), the 20 gauge Type 'D' Fusil (from Clay Smith), and my own .62/20 gauge Fusil de Chasse (Pecatonica).
Now I have two more smoothbore kits on/for my bench; another 20 gauge/62 caliber Fusil de Chasse (Pecatonica ) and a .58/24 gauge Kibler smooth rifle.
I don't think I had any conscious decision to go the smoothbore route and it is surprising for me to see.
Funny how things happen.

Smoothbores are cool and very period correct. In the Northeast they have always ruled. Rifling came in vogue in later times but settling this country SB"S were it.

Love them today here in NH

There is something enchanting about them. When you get a good group you just feel great. And even flyers are normally near enough ‘for government work’

I enjoy shooting my smooth bores, but I especially enjoy cleaning them.
