Any names on the top of the barrels? You did really well.

This I just a wild guess, the first one was made after the civil war. The second one was made WAY before the civil war, don't clean it in any way, it is in the preferred "attic condition".

Again, just a guess, others here will know a lot more than I do.

To my eye they are very good rifles. I especially like the fish on the forearm. Unique for sure!

Both nice rifles. The half stock markings on the lock probably are the lock maker only. The breech had a bolster that is missing rather than just a nipple.

You have a pair of rifles that have sights that suggest the 19th century. A photo of the muzzles will show if the barrels are factory made or hand rifled.

I’d say they are repairable. Check the bores and if they are decent then fix them up

I've never seen a rifle with ambidextrous cheek rests. As a left handed shooter that's very interesting to me.
