T/C Hawken, 80gr of pyrodex and a 350gr “Maxi-Hunter”

I LOVE to hunt and when I’m in the woods with my Hawken, I feel like it’s the 1800’s again

Just something magical about being in the woods with a old smoke pole

No doubt… My absolute most favorite time of the entire year.

Cold quiet winter time, Woods calm… lots of clothes to endure the rugged chilled landscape.

No deer would guess anyone would be out in that weather… yep ,exactly what I want them to think.

Then the beauty of the black cloud and Thud of that lead cast impacting its target.

It’s a wonderful time, no question about it.

I did a major overhaul on a TC Hawken, complete with a GM drop-in .54 barrel, I normally hunt with my flint rifle but wanted to kill a deer with the TC. Without an acorn crop this year the deer have been scarce, I passed on a few small deer but I finally had a little 6 point walk by my ground blind, he may have been all of 20 feet away when I shot.

I cleaned and reloaded the TC so I guess I will keep hunting with it for the rest of the season.
