I beleive you. Sometimes I think we all make this sport way to hard. Lets face facts, back in the old days they shot what ever powder they had, (it wasnt as good as ours today), shot whatever lead they had, (they didnt weight each ball), they didnt have store brought patches all the same dia. And I am sure most of their cleaning wasnt as good as we do today. And they done pretty damn well for themselfs.

The only way to test the quality of a load or any of the components for such. Is to shoot groups from a bench on a good day, not much wind. I am sure that perfect balls will out preform those that are not uniform. At least that has been my finding.
