Found these wood needle cases at Log Cabin Shop for 75 cents.
They also make good speed loaders. They hold 35 gr. 3f.

Now your thinking 82

The wife came across some wooden needle cases like the ones you've pictured - they are longer than most wooden cases I've seen (about 3 1/2 to 4").
What I like about them is that they hold just the right amount of bp that I use in my 62 cal. Some I use for powder, some for shot - takes up less room in my pouch. One thing I would suggest - mark the tops to match the bottoms as far as tightness. Then pick up some "candle stick" (used to put on the bottom of a candle to hold it in place) - it's a sticky waxey substance found is round tins.
Put a dab on the top collar - it helps keep the cap on.

hope this helps, Wart

Hi JWP,
Excellent idea.
Ill pick up some candle stick and give it a try.
Wish I could find some longer ones like you mentioned. That would be great.
Ill do a web search.

Thanks again.

Look for medical supply sample bottles, i picked up some 7 ml for cheap. they'll hold up to about 115 grains of FF or 4 50 cal balls. & have lots of other uses too. spare nipples, small screws junk like that.
.08 each vials

82 - you might want to try a craft shop. Something like Hobby Lobby or JOAnn Fabrics. My wife sews all the time - she's always dragging me along to tote everything. I'm thinking I found these while killing time :haha:
I found the candle stick at a kitchen supply store in the mall (don't know the name, never looked up when I walked in).
I've also use the candle stick to help tighten and seal powder horn plugs - you would think the powder would get gummed up but I've not had any problems.
hope this helps

This is actually an old method of holding charges - take a look at an old picture or painting of a Musketeer - they have bandoleers of these wooden "speed loaders" holding charges for their longarm.

Nice find though!

Here's another place: http://www.shopnewzealand.co.nz/en/cp656/Needle_Holder_Kauri (kinda pricey though)

Here's another - better price, pretty big: http://www.artbeads.com/tool-151.html?utm_source=shopping.com&utm_medium=pi&utm_campaign=main&utm_content=http://www.artbeads.com/tool-151.html

:hatsoff:

And looky here what I found:

See those "needle holders" hanging off their fronts? Those are the speed loaders

In GE the speed loaders of the musketiers are called "the 12 apostels", because each musketier carried 12 of this tubes.
