I have only been hunting blackpodwer or any type for two years. Here in ALabama we have two muzzleloading seasons. On the last ml day in Nov. I shot at a big doe from 50 yards with my .50 CVA Hawken. It was raining, I was in a shooting house. I thought I hit her, but there was so much smoke in that house I couldn't see for a long time. I could not find any sign of her. No blood, hair, ect. I looked for 3 hrs. I must have missed her.
Luckily, I did get a spike two weeks ago with my .270. It was my first kill ever. We have another 12 days of muzzleloading hunting down here from the 8th to the 20th. I hope to still make meat with my Hawken.
Lost too
