Successful rabbit hunt.

It was to good an afternoon for a grandad after doing grandad stuff all weekend to miss.
Cool north westerly, sunshine and light showers. Perfect.
Putting the sneak on bunnies is as good as it gets for me.
As ever my little 45 smoothrifle delivered.

It seems I always drift towards your hunting posts lol.
But....when you go on a hunt, do you ever come back empty handed? I mean you ALWAYS place the ball on target! And it sounds like some nice weather there. It is always nice to have your rifle go off when it's perfect weather. Good job

You are right, who wants to read about a guy who miss 12 shots in a row. Its like my mother-in-law, she likes playing the slots and always calls when she wins, never calls when she loses. What's good about that is she seldom calls.

At this point I'm convinced you are using "stunt bunnies", or at the very least you've trained a pet rabbit to play dead- plus that bag? I know for a fact no self respecting Brit wears fringe- fess up!

Perhaps I've missed it in one of your other posts but would you indulge me with a bit of info on the gun?

The smoothrifle was made in the early 80's by Armi sport of Italy. No longer in business. It's a Wells Fargo commemorative model.

I stopped a few years ago. It got to much for me.
I now have a different view of a rabbit and like seeing them.

Brit, I have a different view of rabbits nowadays too. There was a girl named Sunday B. who used to be adept at finding baby rabbits and adopting them. Used to nurse them with a doll bottle. Used to bring them to Mrs. Paine's 5th grade class at Pine Forest Elementary. Nothing would do but I had to hold each of the little darlings since we were friends. One day she showed up with a FLYING SQUIRREL and of course I had to hold it against its protests. As soon as it hit my hand it latched onto my previously virgin thumb and I reflexively flung the little critter across the room. He landed well with no injury, but I was bleeding like a stuck hog on steroids. Mrs. Paine, a normally sedate and proper lady, convulsed into a fair representation of a U.S. Marine drill instructor who has just witnessed a violation of the quarterdeck. Sunday retrieved the unharmed squirrel, and would not speak to me for a month. Needless to say, I've never handled a wild 'pet' of any kind since those balmy days in the great halls of learning.

Britt, are you using a prb or shot? My father insisted i use a 22 for rabbits, he hated biting on a lead pellet. My nightly chore was to get his 'torch' and my rifle and bring back 2 rabbits for breakfast.

He and i spent many an hour hunting rabbits together.... what I'd give for one more hunt with him.
