I started shooting muzzleloaders in 1995 and have used Moose Snot year round for about eight years in rifles and smoothbores from 45 caliber to 12 guage.

I tear my patch material into long strips, wipe my thumb across the lube and smear it lengthways back and forth on the material until it is thoroughly soaked, and then roll the patching up and store it in a small pocket in my shot bag.

I have never had a problem with the patching drying
out or deteriorating. I shoot from my bag and load with the split hickory stick ramrod. I can shoot all
day long without without wiping between shots unless I wait more than about thirty minutes between shots. If I stop shooting for a while I wipe with one spit patch and and am ready to shoot again.

Thanks Stumpkiller for the recipe for the best lube I have ever used.

Thanky for saying so.
