Swiss, German, Goex?

Things wouldn't be as cheap, but they would still carry reloading supplies, I bet.

Whenever Wal Mart came to southwest Oklahoma they drove a very good regional store chain, Gibson's, out of business. Those Gibson stores sold a great variety of ammunition, firearms and reloading supplies. For a year or two Wal Mart sold reloading supplies, but seldom had a dedicated employee assigned to the counter. A customer desiring to buy ammo or reloading stuff had to find a clerk. i waited as long as 30 minutes to buy something. Then they whined about lack of sales and dumped reloading supplies.

The Lawton WalMart store on Quanah Parker recently moved firearms and ammunition to a tiny cubby hole in the back by automotive.

The Gibson's in my home town was wiped out by tornado. They didn't rebuild. Walmart moved in shortly thereafter. I was too young to remember Gibson's selling reloading supplies. My Walmart however, had at least two employees in the department at all times.

BP can last a very long time. In fact. it's supposed to increase in strength a bit as long as it's kept dry.

@Stone do you *know* that the place you found has powder? Like you’ve been there and seen it? I ask because a few months ago I thought I had found somewhere with Retumbo a friend had been looking for. My LGS had just got a shipment of Hodgdon so I wasn’t all that surprised to see another Hodgdon product finally available, and I sent him the web link. But it turned out to be a scam after he’d “purchased” it. Very embarrassing position for me!

But if it’s a real business and he really has genuine black powder then buy some now whilst it’s available. Swiss is notionally better, but like premium gasoline you probably only really get the benefit of it when you are already shooting at a high level and with premium equipment. YMMV but I would pick whichever one he has most of and is likely to be able to get again…..

there is no shelf life on black powder so long as it is stored properly

Not as much as I used to. I suffered from a rotor cuff problem for a long time.

Know what you mean. Had rotor cuff problems myself, had surgery took a long time to heal. Good to go now

So I am an antique!

Lately I've been using some DuPont FFFg. I'm pretty sure it's 50+ years old. It works perfectly. I found 10 cans of it in the basement of an old house. Was told the house got damaged by a tornado in 1976 and was already abandoned at that time.

Don't put it off like I did,end up having to have anchors put in I was about 8 months healing up. But good to go now
