If I could've got mine to the point where you've got yours, I might have kept it. Hell, it drove me nuts and I still kept it for 13 years. Three deer walked away from me over the years and at the range, seems I did more cleaning than shooting.

Still, I was once such a T/C fan I'd probably still have the gun now if the stock didn't crack - a hairline from the tang bolt hole to the lock bolt hole. Tried to get a new stock from T/C but they told me they were out of stock and didn't know for sure when they'd have any - maybe 5-6 months.
With a lock that ate flints, a barrel that threw fliers and needed constant cleaning, a cracked stock I felt it's time had come. Now I'm stuck with a brand new Hawken (I hate them too) when I'd rather have a GPR.
Have you considered looking around for a 1 in 66 barrel from T/C or Green Mountain? Won't be octo to round but you'll be rid the PA Hunter barrel

GM was suppossed to be making some drop-in 15/16" .54 flinter barrels this summer and as of yet they have not been done. I have not checked with Kerrie in a while but I will get one of those when they become available.

I could get a .50 caliber GM drop-in from Track but I would prefer to have a .54 cal. for this stock. There are no production models on the market that I have any interest in at all. If I went the build route I would do a .54 swamped barrel with a Siler deluxe lock from Chambers I think. I was working as a machinist up until I got laid off in January and I had access to all the machines and tooling I would need to build a rifle and really don't want to do it with hand tools. I could do it in a fraction of the time with the CNC machines and much more precise as well.
