Have recently obtained T/C Patriot which has a badly damaged stock,my querie is whether anyone is aware where a new or 2hand stock could be obtained.Being in australia my options are limited. The rest of the pistol is in good order.I should be pleased if anyone has a solution.

regards to all...............Hotelbravo

First ,welcome to the forum :applause:

I dont know where to find a stock replacement for your Patriot other than trying Thompson Center directly.
But unless the stock is very badly splintered it may well be repairable with time and patience using acraglass available from Brownells.I have pieced some badly broken stocks together a splinter at a time using acraglass and had it come out quite respectable.

If the stock is in good enough condidtion to use as a pattern the most economic solution might be to glue it back together. Then carve a new stock in native wood. I suspect with shipping/tarrifs and firearms regulations on imports in your country. Ordering a factory stock from the states would be cost prohibitive.
Making a stock from woods we here in the states would consider exotic would be unique.

I had a woodcarver tell me carving was easy.
If you want to make a duck, take a block of wood and cut off everything that does not look like a duck. should work for a gun,I think?

Hate to hear of that , if repair isnt going to work try Pecatonica River, they have made me a stock or two from another one as a guide. www.longrifles-pr.com , but it would be best if ya got up in the middle of the night for you and call them, 815 968 1995 they are nice people but they dont do what your wantng I found talking with them Really helped. Fred :hatsoff:

I have a Patriot that also had a split stock. I called T/C, they DO NOT have any parts at all for them. The factory burnt down and they have nothing at all, they lost all tooling and parts.

Sounds like the only option is to buy a block of wood and use the existing stock to establish the locations of the lock, barrel and trigger assembly.
Carving one isn't really too hard to do if you have some woodworking skills and a lot of time.

This shows one I made

Zonie: Thats a fine piece! Since I need a target pistol, how about a few details?
That looks just like wahat I had pictured in my mind!

Not to hijack this post, you can see a few posts I made about the pistol and it's box here:

POST 1
POST 2
POST 3

The pistol has a 3/4 octagon .40 cal barrel with a small Siler lock. The stock was carved from a Curly Maple block of wood finished with Walnut stain and Tru-Oil

Thanks Zonie! I'll be done with my rifle in a month or so and need to get stuff for the next project. This is just what I had in mind.

Hotelbravo thanks all who replied to my post on the T/C Patriot, have cut away the damaged wood, glued three thin pieces onto the stub sanded etc. and now have a reasonable butt.Went to my range yesterday(feel free to go to WWW.yarrapistolclub.com.au ) site. I took some newly molded.440 balls,.0010 patches Swiss 4f powder and after getting over the shock of using the set trigger,(makes trigger control a new subject )managed to drop into the black at 50 metres.I have a comp. on the 27 Oct. so I will need next weekend to get my act together.
Please drop into our website and see where I spend my weekends with friends and a couple of drinks after shooting is over, the bar opens from 4.00 pm,we shoot all types of matches from service,ISSF, practical,to Air pistol and cowboy action.

Sorry link bombed out,try in google either as yarra pistol club or yarrapistolclub.com

I tried both and was able to get thru.
The club grounds and range are one of the best in australia.Birds of all type, echidna's. lizards, even a resident mob of kangaroos rome the area(we are next to a national park)they ignore the sound of gunfire.we shoot everything except rifles(Shotties and cowboy action excepted)

Its a pleasure after shooting to sit back, relax with friends and a glass or two of scotch(bar opens a 4.00 pm) and enjoy the early evening

regards again to all hotelbravo
