Yup, versatile. I shoot a .562 UNPATCHED ball over a cushion wad and 70g of Triple 7. It’s a tight fit but no problem hitting steel at 70 yards!! If I miss it’s all me not the gun😆
 
Today I was kindly given a,never fired, Thompson Center 56 caliber Smoothbore to be used as one of the many prizes at this years Southern Vermont Primitive Biathlon and winter shoot. www.svtpb.org

Has anyone ever heard of this gun or know anything about it? I can't imagine T/C would have made many of them. It looks like a traditional T/C Hawken style gun. Incidentally its a percussion.
Great gun wish i never sold mine.
