That would have given the people on the raft a way to anchor themselves, by grabbing the rope they would have swung to the river bank on the side they just came from.

By shooting the rope in the middle, they had nothing to grab on to and were at the mercy of the current.

My favorite line in the flick is: "Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy", as the bounty hunter thinks twice and then comes back into the bar to die.

Yep, that is a good scene...

Around that same scene there's a flash view of the filming truck also.

And they're not real bullets either? Don't spoil a good discussion about the movie. :shake:

I love this film. Someone mentioned Ride With the Devil, which is also an excellent film, and in some ways superior to TOJW. I still kind of like TOJW better because, IMHO, Tobey McGuire has nowhere near the screen presence of Clint Eastwood.

Don't get me wrong, I like the movie. I was just pointing out something that you wouldn't notice unless you are looking for it.

Play the movie real slow during the scene where the Comancheros have her on the ground and you'll see what he saw in her :shocked2:

Dave

You got a point thar Dave, but really, he could have gotten the same thing only better from some good lookin' skanky actress, don't ye think? :rotf:

Actually I think that needs to be reversed. What did Sally see in Burt :2

Ever since I read Eastwood's anti-gun I've not had much use for 'em. Hypocracy know's no bounds I guess.

I've not heard of that. Can you eloborate? I'm a little surprised a guy that made his living carrying guns in about 95% of his movies would be an anti-gunner. But then again it is hollywood.

i think (an hope!) tom is thinkin. robert redford..that anti gun thing came up in the j.johnson thread..i've never heard clint was anti....

I'm sorry I can't. I read it somewhere a year or so ago. It just gets me that someone who has made an un-Godly amount of money making violent gun movies is anti-gun. There was a thread about this over on Frontier Folks a few weeks ago. I knew Redford was anti hunting and I've read that the gov. of CA is also anti-gun. And how much money has he made on his gun movies?
