I'm getting over 100 shots on my Black English flints. They came from Track of the Wolf at $1 a piece. The Black English flints work really well. I had seen them recommended so many times here that I chose them and haven't been sorry.
definitly not. I'm layed off and money's a bit tight. The kids come first. I'll probably have to wait until tax return timeSCATTERSHOT said:...or maybe she's getting it for you.
Why? Is it just a personal thing because they're cool, Or does a flinter have real world advantages?RickD said:All I shoot is flints..Like em a whole lot better than caps..
well I never have run out of caps so I probably won't have to find a sharp rock. 2-3 cents a shot isn't cheaper enough to make a difference, and I always have at least 1 lighter(usually 2-3) in my bag so the fire starting thing doesn't really matter. The whole "they look cool" thing though :hmm:...well that pretty much has me set on a rock banger :grin:Rebel said:Real world avantages, more than 1 shot per flint. Can't say that about a cap. Sometimes a lot more than 1 shot. They save you money. I average over 100 shots per flint so at $.79 a flint that is less than a penny a shot. Caps are running over $3.00 a hundred so that is over $.03 a shot. You can pick a sharp rock up to use in an emergency about any where. Try finding caps laying around. Put a piece of your char cloth in the pan and snap the lock to get a fire started. And besides, they just Look Cool.
