Well, now, after some digging I see that 3 years ago Colonial Boy posted about this gun. There was some discussion so apparently it didn't violate any rules at that time. Maybe the rules changed since his post. Don't know, sorry if it was a faux pas. FWIW I still applaud the inventor.
Hard to argue with the rugged simplicity of that design. Might take a bit to get used to the "aesthetics" of it.
The trigger guard acting as the mainspring is problematic if it gets damaged.

Didn't even *the ones we're not discussing* use caps at one point? I remember most of them having No. 11 nipples. 209 was a big thing ~20 years ago.

A buddy of mine in NM built one that looks very similar. I don't think he had seen anything like it before, just thought it would be fun and had a big chunk of brass and a milling machine. With a Unertl on top it was a very effective rifle out to 600M or more.

You don’t have to be a machinist to build one like it. Saw, file, and drill would be enough but a forge and hammer would make it even easier to build.
Considering what I shoot (see my photo) this is an interesting firearm.
