:( dang! wish that boy were just a tad more persuasive... :hmm: ...

next time we will try to use a bit of sympathy

No! No! :shocked2: Not that!!! thatll leave a bad impression! :rotf: (umm roy... :hmm: swampy don't like the new one planned either?????)

Roy as usual...   That other clown should be drawn and quartered for mucking up a beautiful rifle. And of course for almost giving RC a heart attack.

I have 20 guage Tulle in my shop that's almost finished.

I'm not a gun builder, so this is my 2nd "not out of a box" gun.

It's interesting that I have had problems with my trigger guard, too. This gives me hope, it can be done.

Just as long as you pin it on the lug by the bow and then a few times along the wrist you should be fine. The joker that did this one as you can see just pinned the triggergaurd at the very front and at the very back.. I totally removed the front pin, put another lug on by the bow, inlet it then repinned it. I used a srew by the back of the bow to go with the pin that he had at the end...

Hey... If you cone the bore and lead wrap the flint.. They will never notice the rifling. All kidding/satire/tasteless humor and various PC's aside. That's a beautiful weapon. Good save Roy and RC, thanks for sharing your frustration/wisdom and the pics.

"Beautiful work . . . but. A Tulle Rifle?

Did that ever happen?"

No, that is a nice looking gun but it is best not start a HC/PC thread on it.

:haha: at least that part wasn't my idea I just made it more presentable.

:surrender: :surrender: :surrender:

And that you did. In spades.

(The man with the iron mounted, cherry stocked Lehigh rifle will now sit down and shut up, please. )

"Just as long as you pin it on the lug by the bow and then a few times along the wrist you should be fine'

just a thought , the TG's on the plain French hunting guns from Tulle were most often fastened with three screws, see "The fusil de Tule in new France"
just an easier way to do it that is historicaly accurate, not slamming the pin method as many fine guns were done that way, probably to not intrude upon the engraving.

Cool  thats good to know. I haven't really studied up on French guns...

I'm glad you finally got what you wanted, and apparently paid for. I'm sure it was disappointing after all the time and money.

Minor hijack please..since I see smart people are here.. How do I get the coil mainspring out/in on Investarms sidelocks? I hate to use an entire "new topic" up on this.

actually the first [strike]builder,[/strike] guy who put the parts together, went TO totw to pick up the kit,,he tried to get a cherry stock but they only had 2 there,,and they were not nice, and their maple selection was about gone at the time.. he said he had 3 maple to pick from..this he thought was the best..like i said i planned on usin it fer deer huntin only so really didn't matter (guess it should have in.. the long run!)and i thought he knew what he was doin based on "his" other work..wait till ya see my new one!! oh poo, not pc ..lefty.. :( :rotf:

Actually I don't know, never have had a coiled spring lock in the shop... you may have to start a new thread :v

RC,
Sounds like you one happy Camper....Now.Thanks to Roy! :applause:
There's no better advertisement than a satisfied customer. :hatsoff:

I had to install the trigger guard on my TOTW Tulle last week...not an easy task indeed, did some inlay, and bending for a couple of hours...I chopped the 4 brass posts and will use the 3 screw method as it was done in the 1700s. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t76/jacques1952/PICT6331.jpg

The Russel Bouchard book is a great source of info.
cheers
