I was wondering if totw only uses UPS to ship there stuff ,the last order I made the shipping was more than the actual purchase .Yhey have to ship by mail also don’t they an UPS is just probably easier for them .oh I’m from Socialist country of Canada.

I’ve had three orders from them in the last 2 months. All were usps, but I live in communist California.

TOW usually ships stuff to me by USPS Ground Advantage, and arrives promptly. Depends on what you order and where it's going, I suppose.

I think OP should know UPS is suspected of being anti-gun and delays gun-related shipments and gives unreliable tracking. If there's a choice, choose some other shipper.

I just checked with the log cabin and the cost of shipping the same product was half the price of totw .It seems some charge extra above the actual cost of shipping just thought you’d like to know .
Yeah, I know TOTW may be high on shipping, but I've been dealing with them since before the internet and they've never made a mistake with an order and always deliver in a few days. I guess I'm just used to them.....I mean this last order was made on Saturday shipped on Monday delivered on Wednesday.

A lot of small shipments start out as UPS and then UPS subs them out to USPS at least that's the way I understand it, especially around the big holidays.

In my experience with TOW they go directly to USPS Ground Advantage, but that might be due to shipment size and destination. They're over there in Minnesota and I'm over here in Wisconsin, so it's not that far.

Never had issues with Track shipping and seems to usually be around $11 no matter what I buy. I just looked through my TotW emails and I have various orders shipped via USPS, Fed-Ex and UPS. Postal Service and Fed-Ex are this year, 2024. They UPS order was in 2022 so maybe the stopped using them.

I am guessing that they pick the shipper based on the weight and/or size of your package. Little stuff seems to come USPS, larger via Fed-Ex. "Small" to me are patches and maybe balls, etc, which end up in the mailbox. Replacement ram rods, being 30-some inch boxes, UPS to my door.

An acquaintance of mine works for UPS. He mentioned that their current "system" when originally developed was geared more towards business to business shipping. That's why they charge a small fee to pick up at a residence. I believe FEDEX is similar (?) They seem to hand off the smaller packages, especially mailbox size to USPS since they have the advantage of delivering to every address, every day but Sunday.
Actually, makes sense for the smaller packages.
Never had any issues with TOTW. Except they are always out of stock with 5/8" "square" flints. LOL

UPS are the scumbags that started Hazmat fees

I learned awhile back to make it worth my time. I'll put together a substantial order that absorbs the shipping cost. It kills you when you just order a few small things.
Yes, that's true, it's the "prudent" way to order stuff, except I can never find all the things I want right now that are also in stock all at the same time at the same place. Eventually I just gave up and ordered what I needed from whoever had it when I needed it and then just bit the bullet on the shipping charges. I'm too old to keep waiting for the best deal. I take whatever I can get, whenever I can get it now at a fair price. Next week I might be dead and won't need it anymore and so it makes no real diff to me or my heirs.
