Anyone know diameter and length for replacement ramrod
Thanks longcruise. I was shooting from the hip because I confused models. I can't remember, but one model is like a toned down, mod Woodsman. Maybe with a 28 twist. The deerhunter has a 24" barrel. A24" rod should work.
As suggested by others, check TOW’s website (or call them) for ramrods available for specific model guns, or measure and make your own. Easy project to accomplish. If a DIY project is above your skill level, think outside the box and contact Traditions directly. Guessing they will be helpful. The tow delrin for that model fits and is decent.
No 9mm slightly smaller than 3/8Factory ramrod is 3/8" diameter x 26 1/2" long.
Just measure the barrel and add 1/2". The ramrod pipes can be measured also but are probably 3/8". Really basic common sense!October Country has a page just for this issue... https://www.octobercountry.com/categories/CROSS-REFERENCE-ROD-LENGTH-FOR-GUNS/
extract below:
Traditions: Buckhunter In-Line, Fox River, Fox River Scout, Frontier Carbine, 36 cal Frontier Scout, Deerhunter, Pioneer Carbine, Whitetail (L) 23 3/8. (D) 9MM*
Traditions: Deerhunter Scout (L) 21 1/4. (D)9MM*
You could call and ask October Country and/or call Track and see what they can make for you. I didn't see any items on either site to the 23 3/8 length x 9mm You may get a suggestion on another brand and size that could work or maybe one or the other will custom build you a pair of rods.
Except they are made in Spain so 9mm .360 instead of 3/8 .375Just measure the barrel and add 1/2". The ramrod pipes can be measured also but are probably 3/8". Really basic common sense!
Yes, I had a frustrating experience when I made a new 3/8" rod for a CVA Kentucky.Except they are made in Spain so 9mm .360 instead of 3/8 .375
