My first cousin (Randy) probably hasn't used over a 100 pounds of 000 in his LH flintlock squirrel rifle over the last 25 years, with excellent success out to 50M.
(Randy is a FAR better rifle-shot & squirrel-hunter than I will ever be.)

A 25 pound bag of 00 buckshot is something over 2500 rounds. I've only gone through about half a bag in my 36 caliber Hopkins & Allen with no problems.
