I guess not sir...somebody erased the pictures. Probably not worth showing futher.Too bad cause I was just getting ready to send some of wheel locks...so much for sharing.

Well that sucks! (The pictures being erased, that is!) Dang, I was looking forward to seeing your wheellock pictures, too.

Oh well. Those are STILL mighty fine locks, even if they don't show anymore. Not many folks can (or will!) make a good Miquelet lock these days!

Cheers,

Gordon

My apologies to all, there was a period of time yesterday where I lost my connection, hence the reason the pictures disappeared. I got that resolved when I got home from work yesterday evening, so all the pictures should now be back up. They were definitely not erased, just inaccessible for a period of time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here are a couple more pictures of his snaphaunce that Bovey requested:

Two separate locks I assume, and the upper one is unfinished, then? Or is there another sear mechanism that I don't see?

Beautiful work, needless to say!

Cheers,

Gordon

Bovey,,I sent in some pictures of the insides of my snapper
but I have no idea where it ended up...sorry got an E-mail address? I'll send directly to you.
Wulf

You asked to see my wheelocks?? I'll ask "Static" if he will post them for me....hang on.
Wulf :snore:

I zonked early last night, so I didn't get your e-mail until this morning Wulf... here's the pic:

A little dark. Sorry, Top one is an Italian Wheel 58 cal
made in 1964...second Is a german 50 cal that is half done.
Still lots of inlays to go [ivory].Third is a german 22 cal.
and last is my "coffee table cigarette lighter". Probably will never go on a gonne. I just made it to see if I could.
Those other things that look like pipes are the spanners..
Hope this is what you wanted Dragoon man...All these are
made completely from scratch. Every part and the barrels
were made from blanks...

Wulf;

Thank you very much for your comments on those wheellocks, and yes, that is indeed what I wanted to see! I absolutely love wheellocks of that era (for some reason I tend to like the boxy German puffers, rather than the later fish-bellied kind of pistols, though someday I do want a French-style wheellock pistol, with the detached mainspring).

When I get this picture hosting figured out, I'll post some of my own toys... not made by me (which is fortunate, since the last matchlock I made was named "The Stump" by friends, LOL!).

Cheers, and thanks again,

Gordon
