Are you required to use a special (smooth bore??) barrel for shooting BBs?

im not sure but i think youd want to because shootin bbs out of a rifled barrel will make them the curve or spiral and go off to the side making yer gun very inaccurate.

Depends on which state you are in. Some states (like michigan) require shotgun and projectiles #4 or smaller. Some states you can use rifles. Check your local regs. to be on the safe side.
