I also found the dialog hard to hear. Is it possible that age and firing many guns without ear protection would be cause of that difficulty? Me neither. Liked the "props" and the location. I became a little confused with the plot but, I liked it overall.

I know what you mean, Len. 120gr going off next to you can do a lot of damage to those aged ear drums. We could always take lip reading lessons.

(All of us GIs "of a certain age" have high-frequency loss & if "in tracks" some/moderate/lots of low-frequency loss, too.)

From what I saw it seemed alright.

A family member just finished The Secret Six book and I might be the one to stick my nose in it next.

They said they don't recall a few other people in the TV production that were in the book, but someone already said it is not a documentry, but a historical fiction drama.

I hope it does not sour later, they have got some very good acting talent in it.

I watched the movie twice last night. The first time was with the surround sound turned on. The second time was with the normal speakers going. I was curious why they were whispering or speaking in low tones while sitting on a dock, or out in the woods. Everybody in the room watching kept asking "what did he say ?" I'm glad it wasn't just me. :youcrazy:

Hopefully they can clean up the audio later. I do hope the rest of the story is interesting.

Again, good scenes and costumes. There looks to be some promising talent. :thumbsup:

If it wasn't for closed captions I couldn't watch any TV anymore. Have tried to watch this twice now and fell asleep both times. Might have to turn the sound way up and watch it during the day. Didn't get much past the "you'll return to England and be cashiered immediately" part but have a question about wigs. Seems like everyone wearing a red coat is also wearing a white wig. Did they do that, everyone?

I watched the program for a third time last night. It was easier to follow after having seen it twice before since I didn't have to concentrate on the dialog. I just filled in the blanks myself. So, I finally got most of it.

Either three strikes and you're out, or third time is a charm. I'll stay with the charm part for now.

I've only watched it once...(some of you guys are hard core....3x already)....but I don't remember the scene where the overcoat was being washed. I remember in one scene where she was kind of dry beating one like a rug and you could see the dust coming out of it....and in another where one was hanging on a clothesline....I guess the assumption might be that it was washed...but maybe not....maybe just cleaned like the other and hung. How did they clean the overcoats?

(I cannot imagine that even in the 1700s that the people "of quality" wore dirty clothes all the time.)

I enjoyed it. A buddy thought it went slow as well (I didn't), but you really have to expect that with any complicated plot. There's usually a whole lot of ground and motivation that has to be laid in those first couple of episodes. And this isn't Alias*- there isn't some secret worldwide conspiracy of dark forces that he has to physically battle and thwart every week- what's going on at home is going to have to be a big part of the story.

*Which is really the only great show (alright, the first two seasons) I can think of that came out of the gate at 90mph with guns a-blazin' in every direction. Plus, Jeniffer Garner.

The first episode was a bit slow but

- There is a lot of plot to build up

- the first episode was also the pilot. So, the pilot having been bought, they will have had more budget for the subsequent episodes.
