I have the brass flash guard, I took them off. I had bad time tring to get the perc. cap pushed on nipples after I have to pinch them to stay on. Think my nipples are abit small. I took a soda can & cut a sq. from it & drilled a hole for nipple threads to go through. Think I need to find a better & thicker ga the soda can aluminum is too thin.

Some progress... staked in tenon's on the 54 barrel and the forearm is actually pinned on. Also worked the iron nitrate back on the wood. Lighter shows more figure.

I done collected some barrels. Found an original HA in 50....a green mountain 50 oct. to round slow twist and a cva 45 rescue. Also got a block o maple to match the stock. The 45 cva may go back to the original rifle as it might be worth restoring. That's another project.....

The Green Mountain 50 is an 1 1/8 ATF to 1" at the muzzle. It is a 1-60 rate for ball. Very heavy...it's the bench barrel. Gun clock's in at 9.5 lbs with that barrel. The 54 with der Kibler forearm only weighs 6.6 pounds. Started the butt plate group....

Bare iron butt plate shoulder and pipes, loosely fitted but close. The pipes are going to get sliced long ways on one side then reduced a wee bit and welded back to a pin anchor.

Here's the re-nitrated wood and browned iron butt plate. I treated the stock with oxalic acid and diluted my Kibler nitrate in half. The forearm is next. Both will need a good scrubbing back for contrast and sheen.
