I'm wondering if they though it was a rifle, not ML, and wanted to see it for themselves.
Possibly. It was sent to an FFL (New York is dumb), maybe they thought they'd check if they could get a sweet unmentionable and thought the ML was useless for their nefarious plans.I'm wondering if they though it was a rifle, not ML, and wanted to see it for themselves.
I bet you're right!Possibly. It was sent to an FFL (New York is dumb), maybe they thought they'd check if they could get a sweet unmentionable and thought the ML was useless for their nefarious plans.
It would be great if there was a shipping co. just for firearms etc. that guaranteed damage free delivery. Maybe it would be a great new business for someone if they could get past all the red tape.Never ups.
Ouch!Good grief. I'm a retired game warden. I once sent a Browning (new model) BAR off to a lab, and the analyst called and said he wasn't sure the rifle was safe to fire.
"Why not?"
"Because of the broken stock."
It was in like-new condition when I UPS'd it, and the only way it was broken was if someone put it on two boxes and jumped on it. I'm still ******.
Once a UPS clerk would not ship a rifle because she asked if it was unique or one of a kind. I had to convince her that it was a replica and could be replaced. Was going to say the same thing. It . I have seen some very expensive and rare guns broken in half shipping.
It happens more than you think. Insurance is good but it doesn't replace the some things.
Maybe I'll give it a wee little smell testDid they pee on it as well........wet and broken is going all out.
Thanks, at this point I don't think it could be denied that it was destroyed by them, then again those companies aren't in business to pay claims.I guess that delivery guy really hates guns. Best of luck with the insurance claims.
In this neck of the woods, UPS has proven to be better than USPS. FedEx is a nightmare, the absolute worst.Kibler's pacifically says they won't ensure UPS.
In my experience, UPS is a garbage company. The Postal Office is much better. FedEx about the same as UPS, no good.

but I always hand delivered any rifle/shotgun that needed to go to the lab
You put it in a cardboard box, so you do not pay for odd shape. even the wood crate gets covered in cardboard with paper taped corners. That's the problem. Imagine the shipping weight of a 10"X72" schedule-40 PVC Pipe. LOL And shippers hate "round" tube items anyway.
