There are many ways to get a ML clean. Use what you feel works best for you. For me, I've been pulling the barrels on my hooked breech guns and using water for over 30 years. No rust and all are clean to the flash channel. Only difference is that after reading here I no longer use hot water. I switched to luke warm water and no longer get "flash over" from the barrel.
