My arthritis in my hands has a lot to do with whether I'll go shooting on the cooler days. Below 60 probably not. Especially it it is windy. I hate to be a wimp but sometimes it just isn't worth the aggravation.
Too cold to go to the range....certainly -3° F., like todayJust curious how cold is too cold for you to go to the range?
I’m with you there comes a time when you don’t have to prove how tuff you are to anyone .-30 hear not including the wind chill .Since retirement I thumb my nose at miserable weather. Used to be I'd drive 80 miles to work in a blizzard. Or a hurricane. Now? Food in the house. 500 Gallon tank of propane for the generator. Books to read. Scotch in the bar. Wife, dog, and cats keep me company. Don't even go to the mail box if it is icy out.
I'm currently in the Antarctic. I can walk up to a leopard seal and touch them, but we keep a six foot minimum distance ... 300 yards with a black powder gun is an amazing distance especially at that temperature .Coldest I ever hunted was -129°F in Vostok, Antarctica.
Bagged the world record leopard seal with my northwest trade gun from 300 yards.
Has less to do with temperature, than with my wife's mood.
And used the proceeds on that ocean front property in AZ...Coldest I ever hunted was -129°F in Vostok, Antarctica.

Oh My, I would think at that temperature the density of the air molecules would create quite the drag. How far over did you hold on said seal?Coldest I ever hunted was -129°F in Vostok, Antarctica.

When my fingers don't work, or I can't feel them, it's too cold to be at the range.Just curious how cold is too cold for you to go to the range?
