Ah success!!!!

I placed a washer between the stock and trigger (front and rear) and it is fixed, just had to set the front trigger take up and it works perfectly. I believe the stock has shrunk over the years, some of the other metal is sunk in the wood too. I bet the thing was stored in a dry placed. I thought my rod had swelled, instead the stock is now in a more humid place (at least more than before) and the oil I have put on the wood in the last two day has added to the tightness of the ramrod slot in the stock. I relieved the rod a little and it took care of that. I peened the rear sight so it will stay put and now it is clean. Thanks for the advise and praise.

JJB,
What is the name of this shop and where is it in Alanta? I'm only 90 miles away on I-20. It would sure beat the 7 hour drive to Powder, Inc.

The shop is Deer Creek Gun Shop in Marietta-- do a search for the map. It is a little place but WELL WORTH THE TRIP!!!!!!!. Plenty of powder, rifles, parts, ammo, reloading items, antiques, you name it. It is a small joint so suck your shoulders in and enjoy. The first time I went I was there for three hours looking through his stuff. He has been there for twenty plus years-- his son is a smith and his grandson in working as a smith too. His wife has a chair in the corner and is always there. Great place. Don;t forget the wallet. I guarantee you won't leave with just powder. :surrender:

Come to think about it they just launched their website. http://thedeercreekgunshop.com/home.html
