I’m fed up with lock-down. I have authority to buy two ‘new’ revolvers but can’t get to go and get them ndd,, what's worse the ranges are all closed.

I have powder, charges made up and, I’m getting in top of my domestic duties - sort of.........

I went out to the fettling shed while my wife was at the gym and

The mug of tea is a most essential piece of kit.

Another 200 .457 balls for my Rugers and another 100 .577 for my lovely Enfield.

What did anyone else do (shooting related - today)

I know those in the US have some day to go yet but here the sun will be gone in an hour.

I just got back from deer hunting. I haven't had much chance the last few years, but life has finally shifted in a direction where I can hunt again some. One jumped up that I tried to get a bead on, but she never gave me a clear shot. Still, it's the most action I've had hunting since 2012, so I'm happy! I'll probably work on my Isaac Haines build a little later this afternoon.

I just crawled out of bed, but yesterday I sighted in a rifle, worked on some ammo for a Sharps, reworked a Gemmer sight to lay down harder on the elevator on my friends rifle and discussed a up coming deer hunt.

Worked on an old powder horn I made back in 1979. ( my first) It is a dark horn, and I attempted cutting in some lettering.
noticed it hanging there in the shop, and decided to refresh the lettering I scratched in so long ago. Very crude, but my first attempt when I was a much younger man.

Finished reading 'Killing Crazy Horse' by Bill O'Reilly and it is a good read, kind of gets you in the moment, best NA history I've read since 'Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee' by Dee Brown. Wife just got a new dryer that I have to establish a dedicated 30 amp circuit for. Surprise!
That's some dryer! How big are your shorts!!

🤭

Well today is earn a pay check Monday. Luckily I still have work. My wife has been out of work for 8 months. The ranges are closed here as well. But Saturday I cast some .562 bullets to try in a .565 smooth bore barrel. Sunday I made some mustard honey bbq sauce up for the up coming new years ham.

For some reason, your rifle rest looks all jacked up!
It is!

A quick 'throw' together' from shop junk just to see the practicality as a rest for carrying out to the 'range' .

A mini-car jack, a piece of flat plate with a boat trailer rubber 'V' block lined with leather and mounted to board. It works pretty well but will get modified a little to work even better!

Below is a better pic of it during the 'testing' phase!

Nice 94😎

Well, my back and heavy colon pressure woke me up after only 5 hours of sleep, took care of the latter, made coffee, sat down at the computers and perused some of the forums I typically visit, scanned my email. Finally went out to the garage and had a cig after finishing most of the pot of coffee where the caffeine kicked in and had to reseat myself on the porcelain throne, made breakfast and sat in front of the computers again. Pretty much that's it so far today.
Thanks for asking.........

Whirlpool, standard size, the 30amp circuit is standard American for 220/40 volt, which saves money on the electric bill. If people ran everything in the house on 220, they'd save a ton of money, but might be more apt to be killed if they contact it. (The children!) My Shorts have increased in size to American 44's, stark evidence of a decadent lifestyle in retirement, LOL!

I'm in the same boat as Bisley John, and most of the rest of the entire UK, except Northern Ireland, that has gone back into a six-week lockdown.

Guess I'll take a leaf from his book and cast some ball and Miniés tomorra with all the good, wholesome prayer-filled lead we got from the church roof a while back. I have three different moulds, each making a slightly differently-shaped Minié with three or four grooves and a shallow or deep cavity. A pal will be making me a bunch from my S*i*d*r* using the mould from Martyn at X-Ring Services in Spokane WA.
