Got up, made coffee, stared at the computer screen, drank coffee, stared at the computer screen. Made bacon cheese grits, drank more coffee, stared at the screen, had even more coffee, went out in the garage and smoked a cig, worked on my H&A some more. Washed some dishes, drank some of my homemade apple lemon juice, took out the trash, stared at the screen, had another cig and worked on the H&A some more, got a big splinter........, drank some more apple lemon juice, stared at the screen. Had my homemade pasta salad, drank some soda, had another cig and worked on the H&A, stared at the screen. Played a couple of RO2 maps, drank some more soda and am still staring at the screen. Somewhere in there I visited my porcelain throne at least once.......

This thread is starting to sound like Facebook. Too much information about things no one else gives a darn about.

Come on folks. This is a muzzleloading forum. Posts here should be about muzzleloading subjects, not about your dog taking a dump while you walked him today, getting your hair cut, carrying out the trash or eating a good breakfast at Jack In The Box or McDonald's.

Sheesh.

Well to be fair I did mention I worked on my H&A......... :)

And I was (am) staring at the forum on my computer screen on my Colonial desktop running the Ben Franklin Home Edition 2.0 operating system powered by a Franklin Kite Key power supply and my Lewis and Clark Browser. Of course type setting all of this is a bit of a pain........

This morning before the boss appeared , sneaked into the shop and checked on the epoxie / walnut prep work on the forearm splice job to extend the new wood on a .54 cal. smooth long rifle for me. Here's hoping for a rainy day in the next week so the new forearm gets installed. Never had a smooth ,small cal. longrifle . I'm excited to get this gun to the range to see how far it's accurate enough for deer. .....oldwood

I really enjoy this thread personally. It allows us to share our lives and get to know each other
and it's a nice personal touch for the forum.

What say we move it to the Non-Muzzleloading Discussion forum if anything? It would be a shame to close it.

I finished installing the butt plate and sights on my Kibler SMR. Need to install the barrel pins and thimbles before I can start the finish work. I'm very impressed with quality of this kit.

Well I guess I should have mentioned that my son in law and I talked about him getting a black powder rifle.
Last time he was in Iowa ,he shot just about all my rifles and almost cleaned out my collection of powder and balls.
I do keep some back for Hunter Ed classes, I try not to dip into myself. I think I may have a convert.

I gave a half bucket of wheel weights to my brother-in-law. He can make fishing weights out of them ( he's deeply devoted to that sport). From now on I'll go the pure lead or store boughts for any round balls that I may need.Ha, if I can find any in the stores.

When I started this thread, I did ask ‘What did you do today with regard to shooting’ but to be honest, I do like reading about ‘normal‘ life in the US. Yes, I would happily see it moved rather than closed. However, today, I accepted an invitation to a shoot next Saturday. 140 mile round trip but it is SHOOTING🥳🥳🥳

Had my drain lines snaked, scoped and jetted. Lots of old sludge, not surprising as the house was built in 54'. Found another problem though, need to replace my washing machine drain line which I may have to do myself after getting the estimate..........

Do you mean 1954?

Old?

Snigger........

Our pub was built in 1634, and at least ten houses I walk by on my way there were built around the mid-1700's. Two more houses, still lived in, were built between 1100 and 1250, and I don't mean the time of day. :) In the other half of the village, which we reach by crossing a bridge built in the 1300's, there are many houses older than the United States - and the church was RE-built in 1420.

I guess we have different views on what constitutes 'old'.

Mr. Foley, please post some pictures of your village. America is all about the next dollar, and has no sense of continuity. For example, in our nearby town, they just tore down a perfectly good Sonic drive in, so they can build a Sonic with a drive through. There is no sense of community or place any more. Sad. You'ld think the city fathers would consider building an historic shooting range; this place used to be famous for crossbow shooting. Now it has nothing of it's past. By the way, I mowed an area for a new vegetable garden, and my next door (1/4 mile) neighbor (from El Salvador) came over and plowed it up for me. Wouldn't even accept gas money. I think he and his family with wife and 3 children, oldest about 17, are making a fine showing as Americans.
