Well I like to cook them with ham onion pepper and garlic. Serve them in a bowl. Next day pour off extra liquid and fry. Now I only eat about half a loaf of bread per year, mostly at the holidays, how ever served these fried beans on Jewish rye bread lightly toasted with a thick slice of red onion...umm

Tenngun, I'm with you! I love butter beans cooked German style with fresh pig hocks, onion, garlic salt and pepper. Complimented with some cast iron skillet corn bread and a big mug of frosty beer! If that doesn't get your motor going, something is wrong with your pooter!

If we wind up at the same table, you guys won't have to fight me for them...I'll give you my share. :haha:

I think they are the only bean I don't like...... :hmm:

The only time I ate green beans was in a green bean casserole at a Christmas dinner at my friend's in-laws house, and it was to be nice. My friend new that I would rather eat live skunk than green beans and kept offering me seconds...and thirds...and  while inside :cursing:

Don't much care for green beans or garden peas, although I love pea soup. However fry green beans with bacon, or boil with bacon and you got a good dish.
Frying pans and bacon can improve most foods

I bet that I've danced a 1,000 miles to SAN ANTONIO ROSE & FADED LOVE over the last 50 years.
