Getting out of the house to go to the range. Unfortunately, I'm getting to old to hunt. But going to range takes some of the edge off not hunting. Sadly most members of my club are not into muzzleloaders. But once my firearm goes BOOM, I usually have an audience.

It's always been hunting first and foremost with recreational/fun shooting second. I don't hunt much now, so it's mostly the second option.

I had to think about that question for a while.
For me, it lowers by blood pressure. Shooting them or just looking at them on the wall.
Cup of coffee in the morning and admiring my work. IPA after a day of dealing with reality , and just looking at them....thinking about burning some powder.... Ahhh. That's what they are for.
Bringing me home to my happy place.

Target shooting and casual competition. I find the pace of BP shooting to be pleasant and relaxing. Also, they serve as one of several avenues to history, especially colonial and early American eras. If I still hunted it would be with MLs but that's in the past.

Entertainment....be it hunting, target shooting, on just working one one of them.

Now that thar makes me envious!!

For me, its pure enjoyment and therapy. I don't hunt anymore, cant afford the licensing and tag apps to NOT get drawn year after year. Even if i did draw a tag it would be for somewhere I am not familiar with and probably wouldn't have the finances to go to more than once a year, (one weekend at best). Some day before I pass on I do want to take an AZ or Texas hog with my smokepole!! (Quoted price at the ranch I looked into would cost me better n $1,500 for one hog and the trip)

I get a lot of satisfaction from making big round holes in things with the guns that I have assembled. Sometime paper. Sometimes hide. And also being able to hit the mark at somewhat longer distance than others might consider normal.
