That looks good, I hope you have a good ventilation system in that trailer/camper!

Today in the mail I got the two cavity 50 cal. Lee round ball mould that I ordered from Midway on 4/21. I would have to say , that is good service by both Midway and the post office. Today is the 25th.

cleaned my two flintlocks again today I shot them yesterday and cleaned but always do it again a day or two later also worked on inletting the lock on a new build for a 36 cal. long rifle flintlock

yesterday i started a young man on what hopefully will be a life of casting and shooting. While he was casting what he wanted, I set up my second pot and cast a bunch of .54 maxi"s.
Today I got tired of doing spring chores and grabbed my .54 percussion Ardesa mountain rifle. Had never shot it with Maxi's so thought i'd give it a try.
fired 6 shots with 55g of ffg covered with a lubed felt wad and maxi. 6 hits on a 5x7 steel plate at 65 yards.
noticed the hammer blowing back to half **** around the 5 shot. loaded the 6th and the half **** wouldn't. tried full and no engagement.
sighted the plate and slipped my thumb off to fire the last shot.
tore it down and the sear is shaped like a horseshoe!
I had a spare in my whatsit drawer and tomorrow will try to straighten the original. found the nipple had a 1/16 hole straight through. worked with prb but with the maxi's and wad the pressure was enough to blow back the hammer.
not sure yet what bent the sear that way but tomorrow should figure it out.
this rifle is one of my favorite's . shoots prb and maxi's wonderfully.
Oh yeah! i made 2lbs of charcoal also. ran out yesterday. have made charcoal from willow for 60 years. todays was made with western red cedar. going to be a first for me.

I checked the bore on my Pedersoli Frontier percussion rifle, have not shot it for about a month. 100% clean patch came out with just a little lube on it. Lubed it up again with Ballistol and put it away. Might shoot it this weekend, give the flintlock a rest. :)

you can always have a threesome! 🤓

Where did you shoot Dave? I shot with the 27th NC, the Guilford Greys, down in Statesville NC, on Sunday.
Yup, I was on tower duty on Sunday for the musket match after somebody couldn't remember to give the "load and come to the ready" command. I had second relay, Boots did first relay.
