Sorry to hear about your fall, I too fell in January getting groceries out of the car, tripped on a bag of Cheetos! 🥴
Doesn’t take much to make me fall anymore. I need to slow down and realize I’m getting older and don’t bounce like I use too. Anyhow this is about muzzleloaders so I’m going to clean my shop and organize my tools so I can get started on my Kibler SMR

Been chipping away at my second bit of walnut. Nice sunny day. Got to move my second engrave in asap quite where to put it I don’t know. My big dilapidated workshop is at bottom of garden just too far. Her indoors is the problem “ I don’t want it in the dining room” yes but we never use the room. Oh good grief !!!

Well I didn't do anything, but my gun smith, in New York has begun working on my 1766 Charleville carbine project by removing about 10" of the barrel and stock. It's an older DGW Japan made musket and a good candidate for this project. He's going to go through the rest of musket....stock, lock (adjust/time), harden frizzen if needed.

Pic shows original purchased musket vs what it will become....

Went to a antique mall with the family. In one of the glass cabinets they had a couple smooth bores! The smaller one had a octagon to round barrel and looked to ge about a .24 gauge. The up close pics of the barrel and lock are off the larger gun. It looked to more like a 16 gauge. Also a old priming horn!

Done that about 1000 Times and it always looks like the city dump. Polecat

I've built three rifles in the den ... but that's with tile floors, easy to clean up. Oh yeah, I also rebuilt a little Fiat engine on the kitchen table, deceased first wife gave me permission. Love my ladies. Polecat

Since the previous thread was shut down (locked) by our new moderator, I thought I would start one up again, as per the suggestion.
So, let's get this thread going again, and share your muzzleloading related adventures of the day!
Ordered a percussion cap maker.

Tried out some buckshot loads.
I was shooting .283 balls out of my 20 gauge. Lousy results but a nice day in the woods.
My best results were with 70 grain fffg, leather wad, six .28 balls, leather wad.

now to what muzzleloading related things this day.
got out of bed at 1pm. MS is rearing its nasty head.
ate a tuna sandwich. shot it with my 32 whatzit first!
got my patch knife and a bag and staggered off through the woods hunting. took my just finished .50 pistol just for giggles and protection from saber toothed red squirrels.
my bag for the day.

You did good!

I spent the day trying out my new bullet. The wind was blowing so hard I didn't have much luck. I did figure out new ways to keep all my stuff from blowing off the bench. The trunk lid hit me in the head about three times. It was fun anyway. Next time I go the wind won't blow.

I’m in southern Ontario. Feels like Texas right now. 76 degrees today and very dry. That’s why I was using leather and green dandelion leaves for wadding, less chance of setting the bush on fire.
