Went through my main possibles bag with an eye toward having to do some wandering some day. Decided I might "need" to upgrade one of the two pocket knives I keep in there with this one:

Not sure what I might use a hoof cleaner for as I don't own a horse, but a marlin spike is exceedingly useful when dealing with old knots in leather thongs or rope. Financing might be problematical though. Might have to reassess my cutlery
What I learned the hard way is combination tools are no bargains. One of them will not necessarily be good at the task you need done now. And if something breaks you may well be out more than one tool. I think the Swiss sell knives like that to a list they got from P.T.Barnum.
That looks like a tool that will many things poorly and not a single one well.

Stained my SMR stock today with a lye wash after sanding to 320 grit. Next step is to neutralize the lye, then remove the whiskers and start sealing the wood.

Took my 54 renegade and kentucky pistol out to the range to prep for a competition on Sunday. Renegade was fine but the Pedersoli pistol lost that ridiculous front barrel bedding screw. Oh well, I've been meaning to install a wedge anyway, so now I have to. All is good. (-:

That will be beautiful. There is some nice grain hiding in there. It'll really pop when some finish is applied.

What are you using to neutralize the lye solution?
