Today was clean up the bench top and floor. Gave the 45D trick 1851 Navy barrel 50 JB compound laps then loaded and capped it.
Punched out 50 or so .38 lube 1/8" felt wads.
Finished a bothersome project by filing out the front sight for the converted '51. It is apart on the bench likely to go unmentionable. time and weather will tell.
busy boy today.

Opened my package of parts from Taylors to launch me into Black Powder Revolvers 44 caliber via Pietta Old Army 2011 vintage
Installed new hand (I would call it a pawl but whatever). Removed burrs everywhere.

It is working pretty good mechanically now.

The wedge was just awful to put in and take out and I fixed that just by removing raised edge burrs.

I cleaned much of it in the ultrasonic cleaner using isopropyl alcohol in a jar in a water bath. Dried the parts and lubricated everything with Ballistol as I put it back together.

I did make my own screwdriver bits for the screws from hex drive bits using the grind wheel to get the hollow ground effect. I can't justify the cost of gunsmith screwdrivers for the work that I do.

There was mild rust and microscopic pitting in some places and I knocked the bluing off removing some burrs, Sanford marker will make it a showpiece.
