Firmly committed to buying the Kibler kit. On the Kibler website, there's a list of tools, to include a bench vise. That meant I needed a bench, so I bought one at Harbor Freight and just finished putting it together. Will work on figuring out the vise tomorrow, since the holes don't line up.
Sometimes you will do better checking Craigslist with search expanded to nearby areas. My CL workbench would accommodate a VW beetle and my CL woodstove was 20 years old but had never been installed or burned. Costs were small fractions of replacement.

My Sons of Confederate Veterans camp, along with 2 other camps and members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, honored three Confederate soldiers that are buried at the Bethany Methodist Church cemetery in Ceres, Bland County, Virginia. We placed Crosses of Honor at their graves, followed by a rifle salute.
You are in God's country.

Finished sighting in my grandsons SMR. This target is 50 yards, resting the forestock on a bag simulating resting over a log.

sallied forth once again to slay that dragon, my .30whatsit flintlock.
this morning i found an old shirt that the cotton cloth was a very tight weave and measured at .018. punched out some patches and lubed them with bear grease.
the patches were so tight with my .290 balls that i had to hammer the short starter to get them down the dragons throat.
40g of fff and it shot two shots to the bulls eye at 25 yards with the sights covering the bull. going to leave the sights as is and shoot a 10 round string as soon as my parole is granted by the warden.
no dry ball today!
