I went through all of my powder supply and vacuum sealed most of it in individual packs and packed it in a heavy duty plastic storage box and stored in an outside shed. Trying to keep minimal amount in my shop in case of fire
I have really thought about doing that so I can get some of my powder out of the house... Just really have no good place to keep it out of the house.

My R/P club hosted a NRA Women On Target course today. I had the pleasure of introducing the ladies to the wonderful world of muzzle loading firearms. Gave "em a break. Only took the .45 calibre T/C Hawken. The smile after their first shot is the reward.
I put up a board with clay birds hanging from it at 30 yards distance. Many broken clays after the women were finished.

people seem to be nervous or at least sadly serious shooting unmentionables but get almost giddy when peering through the white cloud.

Cast 50 Lee Real bullets for my White Mountain 50 caliber carbine. Also cast a few more 54 caliber balls for the Renegade. Trying to get ready for hunting season and get the 54 dialed in.

I made some paper cartridges for my Brown Bess musket from a kit I bought from Jefferson Arsenal. I was going to try shooting them tomorrow, but it is so dry at my local range that those paper cartridges are too much of a fire hazard.
I went out and shot those Brown Bess cartridges I made. They are much easier to load than patched ball. 110 grns of Goex 2F and a .690" round ball. Here are my results. 25 yds off hand. Shot 10 rnds, hit with 7.

I hung out on the forums for a couple of hours.
I thawed a pork butt for smoking (pulled pork) for tomorrow.
I cleaned out my range box and refilled 5 cappers, 2 flasks and a bottle of MAP.
Mixed a new batch of modified Ed's Red cleaner. (Use only Mineral spirits, Marvel Red and White gas) This stuff is great for cleaning revolvers and (unmentionables).

I ordered a .600 Lee double cavity mold, ramrod tip, ball puller, jag, wads and cards for my Chambers Fowler I'm building so I can shoot it when I finish building it.
