On and off thumder showers all day. Piddled in the shop. Did some relief sketches and then drew a design on one of the stocks I got from @Century to late. I was happy with the drawing but things went downhill once I started carving. Got tired of sanding off mistakes. I’m beginning to think that relief carving stocks may not be in the cards for me!
I think you’re too hard on yourself. Looks pretty good from here.

Not really muzzleloading stuff but I made the wife some antler buttons for the frock she’s making me. It won’t make me a better hunter but I’ll look damn good. 😂

I've spent the better part of the week (in-between farm maintenance chores) making replacements for the range accessories i keep selling them to other shooters. now we have a 2 day shoot coming up and I need to replace them. range rods and bench clamps (for when there's no notches on the edge of the loading bench keeps your gun off the ground)
I’d definitely buy one of those bench clamps!

I used a pair of Lineman’s Pliers to cut the pin material with the SMR I put together, then used the same single cut file I used smoothing out the barrel milling marks to file the ends of the pins smooth. Lineman’s Pliers are awesome. They’ll cut screws, nails, wire… pretty much anything you can fit between the cutters.

had a pair like this that lived in my bunker coat pocket. Came in handy when the plastic ductwork would melt and the reinforcing “slinkies” became as entrapping as concertina wire.

Today I'm hoping to get those five shots out of my Pedersoli 32 to see if I can replicate the accuracy of the other day. Especially the first shot.
And I'm also going to see if I can find a load my TC Hawken likes. I wasn't happy the first time I shot it, but that was more or less a shakedown run with the new sights.

I finished restoring and antique, 'Over the Log Competition Rifle'. This was a well taken care of rifle. The bore is amazing. The rear step latter sight is one I've not seen in a while. The trigger guard was broken. I had to find one as close as I could to the original one, then fit it to the original inletting. I left it somewhat dinged-up, so it would match the age of the rifle. Semper Fi.

I got out my deer antler n cut a longer tine off of it. Cleaned it up some cut the tip back to where it gave me a flat. Then i took file cleaned the edge off. Took a small drill bit made small dimple into it. I now have a very nice short starter for my .40 cal Under-Hammer. I am also working the other end to get a powder measure for it. I am not going to drill out till i find the right charge of 3 F for Bushytail hunting.

What a beautiful rifle !!!
Looks like the original trigger guard is broke out where the rear pin goes though?
Could that not have a new pad soldered or brazed on and then re-drilled?
Said repair wouldn't be visible when installed.
The replacement is so close may not be worth the effort.
