Mounted my woodworking vise on a half azzed bench in preparation of building my Kibler SMR.
Time to get off the pot.

When working with a Kibler SMR stock...
get a smaller hammer.
That is all.
I didn't take any...so it never happened...right?Hate to ask, pics?
anything other than a wood mallet is overkill! i hide all my metal hammers other than a 8 oz ball peen when working on rifles. I Knows Meself! When working with a Kibler SMR stock...

My 8 oz ball peen's handle is broken. I'm kicking myself for not stopping when the pin didn't slide right in like all the others. The damage has been 'repaired'. I just hope it's as invisible as I think it should be.anything other than a wood mallet is overkill! i hide all my metal hammers other than a 8 oz ball peen when working on rifles. I Knows Meself!
If you check and find your entry pipe is just a tad out of alignment you might want to slightly sand the pipe? It may be that it is out of align a very small amount . You just need to be careful and not over do it. Sand a little and try your rod until it slips in snug. Be extremely careful as to not make it obvious. My 8 oz ball peen's handle is broken. The rifle is assembled, in the white, right now. I have two issues to deal with. I'm not happy with the buttplate fit, and the entry pipe causes the ramrod to bind. It goes in great with the entry pipe removed, so there's obviously an alignment issue. No hammers will get within 25 yards of the stock during the adjustments.
